A Property in the Horte and Tardois region
The Boulingrin Courtyard
Year of completion: 2023
Phase 1 of Construction of the Boulingrin Courtyard after a study phase for the entire garden
Located in the heart of the Charente, in a charming village that has retained its own character with atypical landscapes, this property has an interesting landscape context and is an integral part of this rich heritage to be preserved and enhanced. In this context, the dwelling, which has origins dating back to the Middle Ages and with parts still visible dating from the 15th century, must be equipped with a garden that will refer to this history while being part of a contemporary revaluation of the heritage.
This courtyard is therefore designed as a welcoming space for visitors. The arrival through the large gate is emphasized by distancing part of the courtyard by creating a planted massif that organizes the entrance space. A green carpet in the shape of a square reorganizes the geometry of the space while providing a gravel area around it for strolling. The planting of several trees on the periphery of this green carpet provides shade in summer, particularly on the facade of the house. An extension and a slight raising of the terrace allow for a table and create an entrance forecourt for the house.
