Between courts and gardens
Year : 2026
Phase n°2 : Study and design of the second part of the property
The main characteristic of this property lies in the interweaving and multiplication of rooms, allowing one to wander from courtyards to gardens. Each space has its own function and its own atmosphere. Like a suite of rooms in a building, this layout creates both physical connections—through pathways and access points—and visual ones—through perspectives and viewpoints. The goal is to provide a sense of continuity and fluidity, thus avoiding the systematic compartmentalization of spaces.
The cloister garden draws inspiration from the rhythm of the windows and doors of the dwelling, creating harmony between the architecture and the garden. At the heart of this composition, an open space houses a large convivial table, ideal for outdoor dining. Eight raised beds, dedicated to medicinal and aromatic plants, simplify their cultivation. Along the edges, flowerbeds welcome plants intended for bouquet arrangements. Finally, at the back, a vegetable strip allows for seasonal vegetable cultivation.
The esplanade forms a large rectangular lawn, like a green carpet, stretching in front of the grand gateway of the main building. This arrangement is reinforced by a semicircular parvis, creating a theatrical space. This allows artists to perform on stage (the parvis) while the audience takes their place on the green carpet.
The back courtyard is defined as a space of arrival, but above all of transition, where vegetation is arranged to accompany circulation. Mediterranean plants meet more temperate ones. The blend will be achieved harmoniously through the planting of greens in varying shades, with subtle white blooms.
