The landscape

The Geographical Base
For TELLU, the Landscape is understood above all by the Geographical Base, whether physical (altimetry, geology, climate, ...) or Human (infrastructures, monuments, settlements, ...).

Posture
Firstly, the base is apprehended in the experience one makes of it. It’s a posture. It’s to be in the experience of a defined space-time. It’s doing «sponge» and absorbing everything the site tells us. It’s being sensitive to what surrounds us.

Spatial scale
It is also apprehended in a spatial scale. The geographical base is a space. It can be large as well as small, elevated as deep. It’s everything that happens there: flows, interactions, connections in actions.

Temporal scale
But this base is also included in a time scale. There is a before and there is an after. Everything that came before has shaped today’s base. Today’s processes will form tomorrow’s base.

Landscape project
This posture and these spatial-temporal scales inform and orient the landscape project. They are essential to respond in a coherent manner and as accurately as possible to the needs and wishes of the actors, while respecting the already there. Ultimately, a landscape project leaves a mark in its turn in the geographical base, in the landscape
