This project realised by In Situ paysages et urbanisme is the result of remarkable joint work carried out by the entire project management group and SA3M (Contracting Authority) on the public spaces of the ZAC Montpellier Sud.
On this project, Mathias Goutelle, an associate at TELLU, was responsible for the study phases and overall site monitoring on behalf of In Situ.
The park comes to life in this flood zone, on the banks of the Lantissargues stream. It is designed as an extension chamber of the stream during heavy rain episodes. From this context arises the obligation to restore the topography of the site as it was before its development. Here, the plot was previously a construction platform. A fine leveling work was carried out to combine the existing topography and the creation of a park hosting new uses for the inhabitants of the neighborhood.
With an area of 7,000 m2, this space accommodates more than a hundred trees. The wide variety of species will allow the park to be a long-term project. A large meadow, an active terrace and large alleys structure the space.
