The Forez plain is surrounded by an immense alluvial garden, crossed in the north by the Loire River. It is composed by three aquatic constellations : the Forez ponds. The Méditerrannéenne influences are amplifying, rising up the Rhône valley and now drying up the spongy oval of the Rhône-Alpine agricultural plain which is threatened. The metropolises of Saint-Etienne and Lyon perceive the potential of the palm. Its suave and soft ground gives it its tender character, a godsend for the process of metropolisation in action.
The project finds in its constraints the elements that nourishs it. So, it is appropriate to assume the necessity of the plain of Forez in a much larger system. It is the opportunity to think about the landscape of the plain of Forez at the 2050 year horizon, to define a common spatiality, built by the prism of the landscape. The chance to be able to think about a new balance of the Rhône-Alpine metropolitan balance.
