The cties in balance
Reinventing a Norman valley
Territorial study
Year : 2020
Territory : Andelle Valley, France (27)
From one end to the other of the Seine’s thread, cities of influence are emerging. Halfway between Paris and Le Havre, Rouen is a city that developed at the back of the estuary. Both door to the sea and connecting with the large cereal trays.
Let’s look away from the major metropolitan centers. From one end to the other of the tributaries of the Seine are the winding towns, suspended in equilibrium by streams.
The project is based on the Andelle river, the design of the project proposes to generate a new condition for living in these territories at the gates of Rouen. The project makes clear the great beauty of the prairie sequences that alternate between the cities of the valley of the Andelle. The drawing proposes a new urban diagram of these cities by clinging to the stations. The nourishing interstice goes up on the hillsides, reveals them and offers another dialogue with the plataux.
